National Space Day 23 August
National Space Day is declared on 23rd August 2023 to commemorate the success of India’s Chandrayaan-3 Mission.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi declared 23 August as National Space Day at ISRO Control Centre, Bengaluru while meeting the team behind successful execution of Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Shiv Shakti Point
The point where the moon lander of Chandrayaan-3 landed will now be known as Shiv Shakti
He also declared that the point on the Moon where Chandrayaan-2 left its imprints will now be will now be called as Tiranga Point
On 23rd August, India hoisted flag on the Moon. From now onwards, that day will be known as National Space Day in India”, says PM Modi
The prime minister was addressing the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists at the ISRO command centre in Bengaluru.
